Brothers Glenn and Gene Schwartz have over sixty years of combined experience as professional musicians. At a young age Glenn Schwartz started playing music in his home town of Euclid , Ohio . He would play in several successful local groups before becoming a founding member of the James Gang. In the late 1960s, Glenn Schwartz moved to Los Angles and joined the band Pacific Gas and Electric. The group scored a top twenty hit with, “Are You Ready?” and had legions of fans across the country. Glenn was a full-fledged music star but in the early 1970s he abruptly quite the band and moved back to Ohio in order to live a “simpler” life
About the time his older brother Glenn was saying goodbye to fame and fortune, Gene Schwartz began to play bass with blues legend Robert Lockwood, Jr. Gene continues to play with Mr. Lockwood, and together they have literally traveled the world playing music
Glenn and Gene Schwartz co-front the power trio The Schwartz Brothers and have been playing together for over twenty years. They can be seen every Thursday evening at Major Hooples on the West bank of Cleveland ’s Flats entertainment district. The band plays high energy blues – rock and the show is completely unpredictable.
The Schwartz Brothers band enjoys a loyal following of fans from many different backgrounds. It is not unusual to see ex-hippies, bikers, yuppies, college students, and an occasional “big name” celebrity at their show. The Schwartz Brothers must be seen to believed.
